July is an award-winning writer with a heart the size of Texas & ovaries of brass. She spends her time on the road, shopping for boots, beating people up, & writing. She is a Pushcart & Fulbright-nominated writer, femme shark, activist, and archivist with a weakness for botany, hot air balloons, and books on the construction of tree houses. She writes sex articles, poems, academic articles, wretched nonfiction, travel essays, interviews, book reviews, and the occasional terrible short story. She also edits anthologies, has a terrific green thumb, and will cook you a cobbler so mean it will make you cry. She has been awarded fellowships from the Lambda Literary Foundation, Bread Loaf, and Tin House. Recently nominated for Best New Poets of 2012 and 2013, and an AWP Intro Award, she keeps her dance card full by writing for Slixa, LitSeen San Francisco, and Lambda Literary.
